What CampusLife is and why it might be exactly what your career needs
Imagine this. You’re about to graduate and start your job search. You open up LinkedIn, scroll through a few marketing roles, and start to feel that familiar wave of panic…“Minimum 6–12 months of experience required.”
Experience you don’t have, because you’ve been studying full-time, juggling part-time work, and trying to keep up with life. How are you supposed to land that first opportunity if every job requires one before you even start?
This is exactly why CampusLife was created, to give students a meaningful way to gain real-world marketing experience while they study, so they’re not left behind when it’s time to apply.
What is CampusLife?
CampusLife is a six-month, part-time marketing internship designed specifically for students (or recent grads) who are ready to build their skills, confidence and career, without needing years of experience to get started.
But this isn’t just any internship. It’s deeply integrated with the BYOB (Build Your Own Business) program, a course run by Social Star that helps passionate entrepreneurs launch their businesses from the ground up.
As an intern, you’ll be matched with one of these real business owners and you’ll support them in creating and executing their marketing strategy as they go through the BYOB course.
So while they’re learning how to build a business... you’re learning how to build and manage a brand. Together.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
Here’s what CampusLife interns get access to:
✅ A structured marketing course
Specifically designed for BYOB participants, entrepreneurs building personal brands or service businesses.
This course (valued at $9,000) is also given to you, as the intern, so you understand the strategy and tools being applied in real time.
✅ Mentorship from experts
You’ll be guided by agency professionals and educators (like Andrew Ford, RMIT lecturer and founder of Social Star), plus monthly coaching and live Q&As to answer your questions and support your growth.
✅ Real client experience
You’ll work directly with a business owner going through the BYOB course. That means helping them build their brand, create content, manage email campaigns, conduct research, develop marketing plans and more, for a real business with real goals.
✅ Soft skills + systems training
You’ll learn the day-to-day realities of being a marketer: how to write professional emails, manage your calendar, navigate CRM platforms, and lead client check-ins with confidence.
✅ A community that gets it
You’ll be part of a supportive network of fellow interns, mentors, agency staff and entrepreneurs. You’re not doing this alone, we’re all in your corner.
✅ A support system that’s always there
Whether it’s weekly check-ins or direct contact with Pearly (our incredible marketing coordinator), you’ll never feel left behind. This program is designed to support you as you learn, grow and stretch beyond your comfort zone.
So… why does it matter?
Because getting your first real experience can be the difference between landing a job you love or feeling stuck and left behind after graduation.
With CampusLife, you’ll not only build a resume-worthy portfolio, you’ll also feel confident walking into interviews knowing you’ve already done the work. You’ve supported a real business, solved real challenges, and collaborated like a professional.
And you’ll have a team of people who saw your potential from the start.
